Great Grandad’s WWII Medals

Inspired by photographer Visarute Angkatavanich and his Siamese Fighting Fish series, my series showcases my Great Grandad’s World War II medals incorporating Angkatavanich’s use of negative and positive space. This series glances into my family’s history and a tribute to my Great Grandad and my family’s involvement in the military. Like Angkatavanich work, this series showcases the medals in an elegant manner, respecting my family’s sacrifice, using studio lighting and macro photography.
